A 47yr old fan who’s fallen in love with BTS...”Their cheerful personality, modesty and selfless acts. I wish my kids will learn from them...
* 47yr old fan Lee, Kyung Hee who became an ARMY.
- Spring Day MV which reminded her of Sewol ferry incident.
- Strongly feeling the vibe that crosses the generation
- Refined melody, honest and bold lyrics
There is a woman in her late 40’s who’s fallen in love with BTS and became an ARMY long before. She works at publishing company and besides the time she spends with her husband and household work, she solely focuses on BTS. She is a career woman and a wife. Lee, Kyung Hee (47) who claims that she’s never loved an idol before in her life, talked for 30 minutes non-stop on answering about BTS when we asked a question, “What do you like about BTS?” She said, “I am just so happy since I discovered them...please write good articles for them. “
(From Lee, Kyung Hee)
Originally, I had no interest in celebrities. I sometimes watched Youtube and there were some “Funny moments/highlights of BTS” in Youtube so I just watched that clip. It all started from there. I just found it to be so funny. Their action, the words they spoke, it was just the way they interacted each other and the teamwork. Then I started getting curious..more and more. So I started digging their old videos. I watched the videos of them practicing for countless hours, and how they played hide & seek during their practice..I noticed care and their good nature in yielding to one another, something I haven’t noticed in other idols thesedays. There were no members in BTS who boasted about himself and wanted to be noticed. As a parent who’s raising children, I wished my kids could actually learn from BTS.
I feel that their music is really outstanding. If Seotaiji shook the world of music with much criticism of society, I feel that BTS has more refined vibe to their music. Beats are different. Lyrics of hip hop and sweet melody of their songs have the power to cross all generation and appeal to your ears. There is a song called, “Spring Day.” In one of the last scene, Jimin was standing by himself showing his back in front of the sea and there was another scene where we see sneakers hanging on tree. It
reminded me of Sewol incident. The scene was telling me as if they wished for all the victims (children) to walk back to us, to say if Spring day will really come to them..those overlapped for me.
BTS is really great at communicating with fans. Some idols only want to show to fans their polished side only, but BTS is frank and honest in showing us their real selves. They show us how they wake up and sleep. They reveal the moments during their concert practice, and hotel rooms during tour/trip. They show us when they practice, and rehearse for concert. I don’t see the wall between BTS and fans. There is no barrier between us and BTS. I feel that we are always together. I don’t think they are stressed by it, rather they look like they’re truly enjoying it. Last year, when they performed at the AMAs, they could have enjoyed themselves at a party or social gathering after the award, instead they came back to hotel and spoke to fans. They said it was all due to ARMYS. They are extremely humble and down to earth. They are so talented but they never show up or be boastful. They tell us that they won’t change and will continue to work hard. They tell us to keep on trusting them.
I remember maybe a year after their debut, I saw Suga bowing on stage and crying. He said, there were no people who liked their music when he did hip hop concert in his own town, and even performed in front of just two people. Last year, when I watched MAMA, when staffs had too many equipments to carry, Jungkook who was watching the other singers’ performance, started helping the staffs by organizing and picking up the camera cords on the floor. If it was someone else, he/she could’ve easily not paid attention to it.
I don’t think BTS focuses on starring in Entertainement/variety programs but rather, they value more on direct communication with fans. People who are interested will eventually look for their contents anyway. When you watch V live app, as soon as their videos show, there are tons of other language versions available within a few minutes. I’ve seen videos even in Russian, Chinese, Japanese, etc. It’s all the works done by the fans. I am always impressed by the comments on the videos too. It’s not only fans from teens but I noticed there are a lot more male fans too. There are people from 10’s and 20’s of course but in 40’s too. There are comments done by both a child and the father. I’ve seen many parents engaged in BTS activities along with their children.
