Jungkook is known for being multi-talented King who’s good at singing, dancing, rap and even composing. He is also known as the stage genius, and unbelievablly unreal character (nickname: scam artist) in idol industry.
Kim, Donghan of JBJ chose Jungkook as his role model. “Jungkook sunbae nim is like a true scam artist character. Singing, dance and visual all completes him so neatly. It is my goal to be be like that. I want to be an idol who performs in a way that male idols want to follow. I wanted to be like Jungkook, and always thought his voice and dance line was awesome.”
Yoonho from Varsity said, “I want to shake Jungkook sunbaenim’s hands. I want to go on a program like Flower Boy Bromance with him. His charisma that exudes like he’s about to eat up the stage is really amazing and I envy that. I want to be like him.” Yoonho showed his fanboy side and respect toward Jungkook.
Euiwoong from “Hyungsub x Euiwoong” also chose Jungkook as role model and said Jungkook is the idol who exudes manlist vibe. Seungjoon from KNK also chose Jungkook as the one who he wants to be like and mentioned that he truly loves Jungkook’s voice.
Youngmin of MXM mentioned Jungkook when he was asked who he thought was the one who was particularly good at dancing and singing.
It’s not only in Korea. Japanese group Super Dragon member chose Jungkook as a role model and said, “I respect Jungkook’s incredible dancing and singing skill. I admire him and he is the artist I respect.”
Aside from above, Hyun from “Seven O’clock”, Wontak from “Rains”, Leeho from “Varsity”, Samuel, Noah from “Baikal”, Hayoung from “TRCNG” and Jongho from “Ateez” all chose Jungkook as their role model and sunbae they like. Other junior idols also showed respect toward Jungkook and showed by covering his solo song Euphoria.
One music critic (female) in Korea said, “Whenever I am at concert venue I have to write up many reports. So I write, research and focus and without knowing, my ears start to open up to this voice and I look up and it was always Jungkook who was singing. His voice color is great so I became a fan. Jungkook’s performance, vocal, and even his attitude is something different that I have felt compared to any other Korean idols.”
One of the biggest reason for Jungkook’s popularity is his power on stage. Jungkook is a main vocal and a center of the group who holds balance of performance. Jungkook has been chosen by many hoobaes as their role model due to his charisma that shines on stage as well as his visual, quality of performance based on his dancing skill and refined and charming voice that many people love.
Jungkook, despite the huge growth of BTS that’s now known as the worldwide idol group has never lost his very first mind set and still works his bone off for best performance possible. This is the reason why so many hoobaes (juniors in the industry) have chosen Jungkook as their role model.
